Here is a completely new caravan for those seeking space and luxury for family touring. The Crusader Tempest introduces the multi-award-winning Elddis Avante 868 layout into the Crusader range.

The key feature of this brand-new model is at the rear of the caravan, where the Crusader Tempest is dedicated to sleeping soundly, with a family bedroom incorporating a fixed French double bed (1.89m by 1.25m) as well as two spacious bunks (1.91m by 610mm). This unique design is perfect for families with young children, who get their own lights, windows and privacy curtains in their own pods. Meanwhile, parents will enjoy a lightweight mattress that’s super-supportive, with soft-touch Argentum+ antibacterial and anti-allergy technology.

The washroom and separate shower can be closed off from both the rear bedroom and the front of the caravan, thus creating a flexible en suite.

The front lounge, with settees on either side, also transforms into a large double bed, making the Crusader Tempest a full six-berth.

In line with the caravan’s premium status, it has an improved Alde central heating system with hot water and 24-hour programming. The system runs on gas, 230V electric or both, and is operated via a new, easy-to-use, LCD touchscreen control with night-time display. To enable you to tour all year, it comes with automotive-standard Glycol G13 antifreeze coolant.

This twin-axle caravan is, of course, 8ft wide for maximum interior space. Externally, it features Aero Privacy flush-fit double-glazed side windows, which come with a night ventilation position, pleated blinds and flyscreens. It also has a 1,400mm by 440mm Large Heki Lux Stargazer rooflight, incorporating a pleated blind and flyscreen, with stylish surround and independently switched integrated downlights. The family kitchen features a Dometic 10-series fridge and a domestic-style tap at the ‘Linear’ stainless-steel sink with flush-fit removable sink cover/chopping board and drainer. Cooking is done on a Thetford K1520 Mk2 oven, grill and hob, while there’s also a microwave for quick meals.

The comprehensive specification even includes a Diamond-standard Al-Ko Secure wheel lock, a Thatcham Cat 7 approved Tracker, an alarm system with PIR and leg sensor and the CRiS security system.

Here’s a caravan that offers maximum comfort for two people. Up front there’s a bright and spacious L-shaped lounge. In common with other Avante models, it comes with the classic Havana ActivCare upholstery, which looks great and is easy to keep clean. The décor is complemented by Ashton cabinetry that is craftsman-built, with clever details such as dovetailed joints and positive locking.

The comfortable bedroom has an island bed with a three-way fold, so that you can create a day bed and an extra 40cm of floorspace. At night, this double bed extends to a full 6ft long and you can even treat yourself to the added luxury of a Hypnos mattress.

You’ll also appreciate the 4.7kW CompleteHeat dual-fuel heating system from Whale, which is intuitive and ultra-powerful and, naturally, it’s Grade III certified.

When it comes to on-site entertainment, the Avante has a Teleco Teleplus X2/39U directional aerial, as well as TV points with dedicated locations for comfortable viewing. There’s also a Pioneer radio, which is compatible with iPhone and Android.

The Affinity 574 is perfect for those seeking a caravan with single beds. It is built on an Al-Ko chassis with an AKS 3004 stabiliser and ATC.

Like the rest of the Affinity range, it is elegant, well-considered and comfortable. You’ll enjoy a great night’s sleep thanks to the shaped bedding construction and appreciate how the design has been kept up to the minute with the Riviera upholstery and stylish graphics, along with Cassino Ash cabinetwork. The specification also features a 10-series Dometic fridge, while technology options include a mobile internet and WiFi system and an optional TV bracket.

The 574 layout has twin sofas in its front lounge, while, amidships, the separate washroom and shower can be sectioned off to create a true en suite – ideal if you have guests staying. Then, at the right, there’s an airy bedroom with 6ft 1in single beds and a tabletop above a chest of drawers.

Another favourite feature of this model will surely be the panoramic Sky-Scape sunroof, giving a flood of natural light into the front dinette.
