About Buccaneer caravans

Buccaneer is a British brand that can trace its roots right back to the 1960s. Known for excellent craftsmanship and innovation, the brand has never ceased to evolve and since 2017 has been part of the Erwin Hymer Group based in Consett, County Durham. Many luxury touches come as standard and Buccaneer retains its position as a premium offering for caravanners who seek extra levels of comfort. For 2022, the line-up - which includes five twin-axle, 8ft wide tourers - has been completely rebranded and remodelled.

There are four models that sleep four, these are: Bermuda, Cruiser, Barracuda and Commodore. The six-berth Aruba is the exception. All are manufactured using a fully bonded construction called SoLiD which uses 95% less screws to make the bodyshell more resistant to water. There's also a 10-Year Water Ingress and Body Integrity Warranty plus an automatic self-levelling system and Alde underfloor heating as standard.

The aerodynamic exterior has flush-fit tinted windows, wider skylight, gas locker with improved opening mechanism, stylish rear light clusters and new graphics.

One of the key updates is the seam-free interior walls. These walls are water resistant and lightweight while being tough and are sustainably manufactured and 100% recyclable.

The worktops have two-tone brushed edging for a polished look and the upholstery scheme - Rococo - is a soft palette of grey and cream which features cushions in an Art Deco-inspired design. Furnishings are lightweight and feature ActivCare and pet friendly properties for easy cleaning.

All models in the range have fixed beds and the mattresses are lightweight with Argentum+ antibacterial and anti-allergy technology with silver for a more comfortable sleep. Inside the washrooms you'll find soft feature lighting, coordinating splashback and shower tiles and resdesigned shower cubicle with Ecocamel Orbit water-saving halo showerhead.

The Aruba sleeps six and, as such, is the perfect choice for the large family. There's a large lounge which converts into a supersize double up front, and a wraparound dinette amidships which becomes a further double. To the rear, there's a fixed French-style double bed so there's plenty of options for flexible sleeping arrangements.

A panoramic ‘Sky-Scape' sunroof above the front dinette lets in plenty of light and, in the evenings, you can make use of the LEDs on the surround and the pleated night blind.

Children will enjoy having their own space with the side dinette and grown-ups will likely appreciate that, too. Plus, there's plenty of places to plug in gadgets. If there's just two of you, use the dinette as a dedicated space for breakfast with a view!

The four-berth Barracuda is one of two models in the line-up with an L-shaped lounge featuring a dedicated entertainment centre including a 32in TV and USB charging points. In the evening, this area makes up into a generously sized double. To the rear is a fixed bed which is retractable, allowing for extra floorspace during the day - 40cm to be exact. A luxurious Hypnos mattress is an option for all Buccaneer models.

Having the washroom in the centre of the caravan allows the flexibility to create an en suite for the rear bedroom or a family washroom. The kitchen is in the offside position with extra workspace and features everything you need to cook a delicious dinner.

This is the perfect caravan for those who enjoy family time but want the option of privacy.

As with the Barracuda, the four-berth Bermuda offers an L-shaped lounge but whereas the entertainment centre is on the transverse side, here it's on the nearside. A 32in TV, external satellite point, 12V outlet with additional solar panel connectivity, aerial point and 230V external socket come as standard.

If you prefer to listen to music, you've got the Pioneer Bluetooth radio which is compatible with iPhone and Android. You'll also be able to use Spotify and Apple Music and enjoy excellent sound.

When it's time for bed, head to the rear of the caravan where you'll find the retractable transverse island bed. The seating in the L-shaped lounge also converts into a double bed. Wherever you sleep, the Alde heating system including underfloor heating will keep you snug no matter what the weather is doing outside.

The four-berth Commodore has a retractable transverse island bed with a three-way fold. Put simply, this means that in the retracted position you'll have an extra 40cm of floorspace in the bedroom. In addition, storage is plentiful throughout the caravan with all space being utilised so you can take everything you need when you go away. Wardrobes are soft close with automatic light so you can easily access things you need even at night, and the soft curving lockers have stylish chrome-effect handles.

In the front of the caravan, the seating converts into a sizeable double which is simple to make up, no matter how tired you are. If you've got guests staying, use the washroom amidships to create an en suite.

The four-berth Cruiser is the lightest of all the Buccaneer models with an MTPLM of 1,925kg and is a great choice for couples. It features an end washroom that spans the width of the caravan, giving plenty of room to get ready for the day ahead and the LED-lit shower feels almost spa-like.

A retractable transverse island bed can be made into a day bed in one simple move, freeing up more room around the bed. The back-lit headboard with feature lighting is a thoughtful touch that adds to the calm ambience - you're on holiday after all!

In the front, the seating transforms into a double should you need the extra space for guests.
