Newton Mill Caravan & Camping Park

905b65d1-eb2b-49b3-acec-05b81688a736
Newton Mill is a peaceful site lying in a hidden valley yet close to the city centre of Bath.

Open all year, this MMM Premier Park is an award-winning site, nestled amongst trees in a Local Nature Conservation Area close to the city centre of Bath. The park has a trout stream flowing through it where fishing is free and providing some peaceful wooded walks.

The pitches are all reached by tarmaced drives leading to level lawns and are within easy access of the facilities. Most pitches have mains electricity connections and multi channel television hook up. A selection of pitches are situated either beside the mill stream or on the opposite side of the road sheltered by the valley side. There are pitches to cater for all sizes of motorhomes and there is an accessible drive on waste disposal point. A chemical toilet disposal point is available along with various convenient water points around the park. There is also a tenting meadow available alongside the stream reached only on foot where you can experience camping in an entirely natural setting. Cars are parked on the opposite bank of the stream.

All caravan and camping pitches have access to the modern toilet and washroom facilities which are centrally heated with free hot showers, spacious private washing cubicles, family rooms and facilities to wash dishes. There is a well equipped private shower room and toilet with disabled access. There are also separate bathrooms available at an additional charge. The park also offers laundry facilities, a payphone, children's play area, a well stocked convenience shop, licensed bar and restaurant serving good quality food. There is an outside seating area overlooking the mill stream where you can enjoy a relaxing drink or al fresco meal.

The site is close to the many tourist attractions of Bath. The World Heritage City has impressive architecture including the beautiful Pultney Bridge and Bath Abbey. The city is renowned for art, culture and history and has many listed buildings. The ancient Roman Baths are worth visiting to discover the history of public bathing and the Pump Room is a great place for socialising. Alternatively you can visit the Thermae bath spa for the ultimate relaxing spa experience where you can bathe in the rooftop pool and enjoy a wide range of treatments. The centre of Bath is just over 2.5 miles from the park and can be easily walked or cycled using the nearby canal-side cycle path. It combines miles of beautiful countryside with interesting architecture, taking in two impressive aqueducts at Dundas and Avoncliff and the dramatic Caen Hill Locks at Devizes. Public transport into Bath is easy as the frequent local bus service stops above the site and a woodland path leads from the camping area. There is also a bus service to Bristol every 12 minutes.

The Avon Valley railway, based between Bristol and Bath, and the East Somerset Railway, based between Frome and Shepton Mallet, both offer the opportunity for scenic steam train journeys and have various special events on throughout high season.

Other local attractions include the spectacular five acre Abbey House Gardens in the centre of the historic town of Malmesbury, Stonehenge, Longleat Historic House and Safari Park, Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park, SeaQuarium, Brean Leisure Park and Bristol Zoo. Large shopping centres within easy reach are Bath, Bridgwater, Bristol, Glastonbury and Street. Take a drive to the coast where the traditional, yet vibrant seaside resorts of Burnham on Sea and Weston-super-Mare offer miles of sandy beaches.

Open all year, Newton Mill is an ideal touring centre for the many attractions of the region, or it is simply a place to relax, enjoy the birdsong, the babbling of the millstream and the abundance of nature that surrounds you.
