Naburn Lock Caravan Park

bd1b016c-53fc-429c-94be-230ccb9bb407
Offering 100 pitches for tourers and motorhomes, Naburn Lock is located in Naburn, just four miles from the historic city of York. As well as a regular bus service to York, the site also offers a river bus service into the centre of York. So the site is ideal for those who like to pitch up and not have to drive again.

The actual pitches themselves are mainly on level grass with electric hook-ups being available, although there are some hardstandings available. A thoughtful touch is that there are separate areas of the site that are designated adult-only – ideal for those people who prefer not to be disturbed by the noise of children.

A toilet and shower block is provided and offers hot showers and loos. There’s also a laundrette with washing machines and a tumble dryer. Equally, disabled guests are catered for. On-site there’s also a park shop that offers a comprehensive range of groceries, sweets, ice cream, milk and daily papers.

A cycle trail that runs from York to Selby is located within half-a-mile from the site and is well worth a pedal. If that sounds a little too energetic, then it’s worth noting that you can also enjoy coarse fishing in the River Ouse.

Or if you’re more of a shopaholic, you could head for York Designer Outlet, where you'll find all kinds of designer brands with tempting price tags. Naburn Lock is the nearest site to this retail emporium and has a regular bus service to it. And after a hard day’s shopping, why not relax with a stroll to the local pub? You'll be pleased to note that the Blacksmith Arms is just half a mile away.

York itself is a mere 15 minutes away by bus (or slightly longer by river boat) and is a fascinating place to visit. From the extensive shops and teashops of the Shambles, to the gothic opulence of York Minster, the town has something for everyone, plus it offers a wide range of eateries. Popular tourist attractions include the Jorvik centre, Eden Camp and, for the more gruesome visitors, the York Dungeon.
