Cumbrian campsite takes Gold in VisitEngland awards

08b9f96c-a607-4f1e-8111-6d7fda784b92

The Quiet Site, in Cumbria, has been awarded Gold in the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2023

The Ullswater campsite offers pitches for caravans, motorhomes and tents, alongside sustainable glamping accommodation in the heart of the Lake District.

The Silver award in the Camping, Glamping and Holiday Park of the Year category went to Brook Meadow in Leicestershire, while Hendra Holiday Park, a Premier Parks site in Cornwall, took home the Bronze.

Running for more than 30 years, and this year sponsored by the Caravan and Motorhome Club, the awards celebrate innovation, quality and best practice in businesses and individuals in the country’s tourism sector. Other categories include Experience of the Year, the Accessible and Inclusive Tourism Award and Pub of the Year.

VisitEngland Director, Andrew Stokes, says,

It is fantastic to come together as an industry to celebrate our world-class tourism businesses. Competition this year was fierce with customer service excellence evident across every category, thanks to the passion and dedication of individuals.

From an outdoor theatre in Suffolk to a boutique B&B in Essex, from an arboretum museum in Staffordshire, a zoo farm in Bristol, to island boat tours in Northumberland, this year’s awards also showcase the wonderful range of quality tourism products on offer across England.

I congratulate all the winners and especially those who won Gold, an achievement cementing their place as the country’s crème de la crème, standard-bearers for England’s tourism industry.
