Lee Valley Caravan Park, Dobbs Weir
Dobbs Weir is part of the 10,000 acre Lee Valley Regional Park – created as a “green lung” for London, Essex and Hertfordshire, where you can enjoy relaxing walks, do a spot of wildlife watching, try some fishing or take part in various watersports.
Holidaymakers at Dobbs Weir (and the other two Lee Valley campsites) get a special discount card that gives exclusive money-off offers at the park’s attractions and cafés including the Olympic white water rafting course.
The beautifully-maintained site has traditional camping pitches, but if you’d prefer to leave your tent at home there are pre-pitched safari tents, wooden Wigwams and holiday lodges available to hire.
The safari tents sleep up to five and come with double beds and bunks as well as comfy settee and a fully-equipped kitchens, including a fridge and four-ring hob. The cosy wooden Wigwams have TV and DVD players and your dog can even join you.
Dobbs Weir itself is just across the road from the site and is an oasis of tranquility. It’s the ideal spot for a picnic or just a gentle wander around.
But what makes this area even more attractive is its proximity to London. Broxbourne Station is just 10 minutes away from the site and there are four trains an hour to the capital. Campsite customers even get free parking close to the station.
From the rural surroundings of Lee Valley, you could be sampling the delights of the capital in under an hour. Liverpool Street station is handy enough for you to walk to some of central London’s main attractions – like St Paul’s Cathedral – in less than 15 minutes.
