Campsite of the Month: Briarfields Motel & Touring Caravan Park, Gloucestershire

8044c524-7fe9-4b47-b7d0-39816f5ef344

Briarfields is a beautifully laid out site that is conveniently located for exploring Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds.

With its lovely landscaped grounds, tree screening and mature hedges, this family-owned, adults-only site is an oasis of calm.

But it’s also only a short drive – or bus journey – away from the twin attractions of Cheltenham and Gloucester.

Cheltenham is renowned for its exclusive shopping and Gloucester is steeped in history; it has a wonderful cathedral and Quays outlet shopping centre.

The site is also well positioned to explore the Cotswold villages and Forest of Dean. Cleeve Hill, the highest point in Gloucestershire, rises above Cheltenham and offers great walking.

Despite feeling like a very rural site, it is only a short walk from local amenities including the National Hunt pub, a fish and chip shop, a Chinese takeaway and an Asda superstore.

The bus stop at the site entrance gives easy access to Cheltenham and Gloucester.

On site, there is free WiFi available, and you have access to a freezer and a books and board games corner. The pristine toilet and shower block is centrally located and is heated in colder months and, as well as clothes washing and drying facilities, the laundry room has covered dishwashing sinks.

Briarfields is dog-friendly and, although it doesn’t have its own walk, your four-legged friends are very welcome and there are plenty of good walks from the site.

Although there are over 70 hardstanding pitches for caravans and campervans, the site has a limited number of camping pitches so do make sure you book in advance at peak times.

There are three glamping pods if you fancy leaving the tent at home, and the motel also offers comfortable accommodation, making Briarfields an ideal choice for camping and non-camping friends to get together.

The staff are very friendly and know the local area well, and are happy to help you get the best from your stay here.
