Vango announces partnership with VisitScotland

In recognition of Vango’s Scottish heritage and investment in design, research and innovation, Vango has announced a partnership with VisitScotland to celebrate the Year of Innovation, Architecture & Design (YIAD).

With a portfolio, which includes tents, rucksacks, sleeping bags and awnings spanning 50 years, the camping brand has been instrumental in changing the way people enjoy the outdoors.

During The Year of Innovation, Architecture & Design, Vango has launched a new AirAway drive away awning (the Idris) incorporating Vango’s latest AirBeam technology. It’s finished in striking Scottish heritage colours, with a streamlined design.

“The Exclusive Collection creates a home-from-home feel and is priced attractively for the family camper. The bedrooms are all king size and the tent provides storage without compromising on space. The Exclusive collection is a real testament to our commitment in research, design and innovation,” said Vango’s Marketing Director, Derek Scott.

Derek continued, "In terms of awnings, this is one of the fastest growing categories in the business. The Idris has specifically been designed to complement vehicles such as the VW T6, with a strong appeal to those travelling along the Scottish coast for surfing, mountain biking and other adventure sports, given its entry-level price and concept for storing essential kit overnight.”

Malcolm Roughead, Chief Executive of VisitScotland, said, “From textiles to technology, architecture to fashion and design, the Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design is shining a spotlight on this country’s greatest assets and icons, as well as our hidden gems. We are delighted to be teaming up with Vango – a Scottish company with a proud history of innovation – to promote camping in Scotland and encourage even more people to enjoy a holiday in our great outdoors.”
