Star Wars-inspired jackets unveiled by Columbia

With the latest episode of the Star Wars saga just days away, outdoor clothing specialists Columbia have unveiled a range of must-have jackets for fans.

The three stylish, limited-edition jackets are inspired by the Empire Strikes Back and are exactly what you need for queuing up outside the cinema for the first showings of the new film.

The coats are based on the outfits worn by Han Solo, Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker on ice planet Hoth.

But you’ll have to be quick if you want to snap up one of these jackets before The Last Jedi hits the big screen on 13 December – there are fewer than 2,000 available worldwide. Each jacket is individually numbered and contains several references to Star Wars and the characters who wore the original versions.

The collection will be available online in strictly limited quantities on Columbia’s website or at Columbia’s London store in Kensington from Friday 8 December and they’re expected to go fast, despite the £360 price tag.

The Echo Base collection, named after the Rebels’ secret base on Hoth, was created by Columbia’s designers who worked closely with Disney to ensure every detail was authentic and true to the film.

But as well as paying tribute to this movie classic, the jackets are constructed with Columbia’s “Tested Tough” promise to ensure they stand up to the worst conditions on this planet.

HAN SOLO ECHO BASE PARKA
Rugged and durable on the outside, but warm and fuzzy on the inside – just like Han. The jacket features a leather Rebel patch and a quilted faux-fur trimmed hood. It’s made with durable water-resistant, cotton-blend fabric and insulated with reflective lining

LEIA ORGANA ECHO BASE JACKET
Inspired by Princess Leia’s original costume from The Empire Strikes Back, the jacket and vest combination is also made out of a durable, water-resistant, cotton-blend fabric and insulated with Omni-Heat Reflective lining. It has a vintage look, feminine fit, and  details like a stowable hood, princess seam piping, and gusset sleeves.

LUKE SKYWALKER ECHO BASE JACKET
A durable cotton-blend, water-resistant jacket and vest combination with a stowable hood, inspired by Luke’s original Hoth costume. It also features Omni-Heat Reflective insulation to conserve body heat.
