Simply the best

Staff at Carnforth-based South Lakeland Caravans have scooped a top award at the Lancashire Excellence in Tourism Awards ceremony.

Bev Dixon, head of human resources, and Jill Dawson, human resource officer, collected the award for Best Practice in Tourism Training from BBC North West Tonight presenter Dianne Oxberry.

The event recognised and celebrated the outstanding performers and high levels of investment in quality from across the tourism industry in Lancashire and Blackpool. Experts from outside the region formed the judging panel. They were looking for companies that set an example of best practice in the industry and were able to demonstrate an innovative approach to fostering individual development whilst making the best use of resources.
