Outwell Launch 2019 Tent Range

Family camping specialists Outwell have launched their 2019 range – featuring 46 new tents and a radical design overhaul inspired by everything from buses to cutting edge architecture.

The new tents come in six different collections and feature 21 inflatable models and 25 pole.

A key new feature across the range is the Panorama philospophy, which Outwell say is inspired by the trend in architecture for integrating indoor and outdoor living spaces.

In housebuilding, this can take the form of huge glass exterior walls that seamlessly merge views and garden with interior open plan living.

Outwell says Panorama brings this approach to family camping – drawing on their Scandinavian design heritage to create huge versatile living and sleeping spaces that can be opened to the surroundings.

Panorama incorporates large versatile tent openings, huge tinted windows  and spacious Ambassador Master and Premier bedrooms.

Outwell’s designers say they looked at the sleek lines of modern vehicles – particularly minivans and buses – for ideas.

The designs of architect Frank Lloyd Wright, including his famous Fallingwater house in Pennsylvania, were also an inspiration.

Just as Wright’s designs blurred the lines between outdoor and indoor living, the Panorama front openings create a veranda effect that brings the outside world into the tent.

Some of the new features introduced in 2019 are bigger windows and sleeker lines, ventilation moved from the top to the bottom of the tents and the flexible 360° Access System on the bedroom doors, which allows various different set-ups.

The new Universal Tent Organisers have a variety of mesh and solid pockets plus adjustable hooks for storing small items.

• The new Outwell tent range will be available to view on the Outwell website from 1 December 2018
