Ice-cool campsite for Tour de Yorkshire

6e4b9cbf-e33c-4e13-8055-1cd7226c4239
Huddersfield ice cream producer and dairy farm Yummy Yorkshire will open a temporary campsite for the Tour de France, and plans a celebration evening with live entertainment on Saturday 5 July 2014.

Yummy Yorkshire’s farm is just four miles from the route of stage two of the Grand Départ, which will pass from York to Sheffield on 6 July.

The pop-up campsite offers 6x6m non-electric pitches for tents or campervans at £50 a night (minimum two nights) including parking. There are just 50 pitches available.

The company’s existing ice cream parlour and coffee shop will serve campers, also selling milk, water, bread and eggs, and the campsite will have flushable male and female loos.

The Le Grand Départ Celebration on Saturday July 5 will offer live entertainment, a DJ, a bar serving local cider, wine and beer and a hog roast and desserts with a French twist. This event is open to the public and campers alike, with tickets priced at £22.50.
