Best campervan 2026
Bürstner B66 600 C
£61,695
You simply cannot ignore the value for money offered by this campervan. It’s priced from just £61,695 and the only significant optional extra offered is the pop-top roof (turning it into a four-berth for an extra £5,370). Based on the six-metre Fiat Ducato, the 600 C comes with the 140hp engine and eight-speed automatic gearbox.
It is finished in Lanzarote Grey and has 16in alloy wheels, flush-fitting framed habitation windows, an overcab sunroof and colour-coded bumper with front fog lamps. Even the roll-out awning is part of the spec. The layout is the Euro classic, with a good-sized locker for your outdoor gear under the rear bed.
The bedroom benefits from a window on the nearside and movable reading lights on rails. With no tall furniture along the offside, the through-view right to the back creates a greater feeling of space, while the kitchen has plenty of worktop without adding a flimsy flap.
There’s even an oven, while the 84-litre compressor fridge is mounted at the front of the unit so that it can also be accessed from outside. The washroom is a good-sized space with a swing-wall that quickly turns it into a practical shower with no clingy curtain.

Best self-contained campervan 2026
Auto-Trail Expedition 54
£53,634
Here’s a campervan that’s usefully compact (5.41m long) and yet it has a full washroom and plenty of space for two. It’s also fantastic value for money, with a cost more normally associated with secondhand vehicles. The price even includes a five-year habitation warranty.
The Expedition adopts a British favourite for its layout – the classic rear lounge. There’s nowhere better on a cool spring day than parked up by the beach, enjoying the cosy comfort of your campervan, the sights and sounds of the sea (with the back doors open) but without the sand blowing into your sandwiches.
Of course, that lounge converts into a transverse double bed at night, with blinds and flyscreens on all the rear windows. And should your partner fancy a lie-in, the swivel cab seats mean there’s a second space in which to grab a morning cuppa. You can prepare a lot more than a brew on the nearside galley, which has an oven/grill as well as the hob.
The 84-litre compressor fridge is at waist height behind the driver’s seat, while the Whale heating system is underslung to save space in this compact model. Although it’s a small campervan, it still has a full washroom with a swivel cassette toilet, foldaway basin and a shower.
Dreamer D68 Fun
£55,900
The campervan specialist brand from the Rapido Group has always offered a cheaper line- up, called Fun, alongside its top-spec Select models. The Fun range is ideal for those on a tighter budget and the value offered by this D68 model is oh-so-obvious, with a starting price of only £55,900.
OK, you’ll probably want to upgrade to Fun+ spec (for an extra £3,430). You might want to add the gas oven (£800), too, but that still leaves this 6.36m extra-long-wheelbase Fiat Ducato campervan looking very keenly priced at just a tad over £60,000. And the gas oven option is nice to have as many rivals come solely with a two-burner hob for cooking.
As a 20th Anniversary special edition model this year, it comes equipped as standard with the eight-speed automatic gearbox, an awning, 150W solar panel, cab blinds, electric step and a flyscreen for the sliding door.
It also comes the neat Duo’Space swing-wall washroom and a full-height walk-through into the cab, while the rear fixed single beds are a generous 1.92m and 1.98m long. There are other campervan of this ilk that look plusher but this new Dreamer has everything you need at a very keen price.
Hillside Cromford
£73,550
Based on the long-wheelbase version of the new VW Transporter, the extra width of the new panel van (compared with the previous T6.1) makes a big difference to the usability of this rear kitchen layout.
Its individual RIB rear passenger seats come with a pair of armrests each for captain’s chair-style comfort and, with the swivel cab chairs, they form a comfy four-seater lounge.
Crucially, there’s now a wider aisle between them for easier access to the rear galley. You still have a choice of two single beds or a double at night, although the former is the better set-up.
The Cromford’s kitchen has been improved, too, in this latest guise with a waist-height fridge, resin worktops and even an oven.
Adjacent is the Dometic cassette toilet with privacy screen, and there’s a small washbasin, so you don’t have to wash your hands in the kitchen sink as you do in some rivals. The pull-out showerhead is ideal for washing dogs or boots outside.

Bailey Endurance E65
£69,999
Bailey’s latest Ford Transit-based campervan is the best leisure vehicle yet to emerge from the Bristol factory. It looks bold and exciting painted in Grey Matter with Trail grille, front skid plate and optional black Swamper alloys.
Even more so with the Adventure Pack of roof rack and ladder and additional off-road lighting. And yet, with a £69,999 price tag, the Endurance seems very well priced, too. The European-style rear transverse double bed layout here has been refined to the nth degree, with chequerplate flooring and accessible storage in the garage, while the bed is easy to fold for even greater space.
Then there’s a chaise longue position for the mattress that’s a game-changer for those lazy mornings of breakfast in bed. We’ve seen Bailey’s space-saving washroom before but here it is vital in creating extra space around the galley, especially as the Ford Transit isn’t as broad inside as the rival Fiat panel van.
And with diesel heating, twin 80Ah leisure batteries and a 130W solar panel, the Endurance is ready for some off-grid adventures, too
Best pop-top campervan 2026
Jerba Cromarty
£70,000
The latest Cromarty, based on the Ford Transit Custom or its cousin, the VW Transporter T7, moves up a notch or three from its predecessors. Not only has the North Berwick-based converter come up with an updated version of its own pop-top roof, but the Cromarty now has a Mobiframe sliding seat system, with floor rails that allow the three-seater bench to slide forward and back.
This gives it huge storage capacity as well as flexible living arrangements, with the added bonus that the 126cm-wide bed is really easy to set up, is totally flat and comes with a built-in topper. Jerba is also one of the few (only?) converters to address an issue relating to the design of the Mobiframe bed.
Because the area below the seat is open on both sides of the under-seat drawer, there’s nothing to stop the contents of your boot sliding forward when you brake. Jerba’s solution is to fit two storage cubes under the seat, which not only block the gaps but are obviously useful. And because they’re attached to the seat frame, they move when it does.
You can choose to make the Cromarty completely gas-free with a diesel-fired cooker from Wallas, which also provides space heating.
Best Fixed Single Bed Campervan 2026
Pilote Évidence V630J
£76,700
The V630J is one of two new models in Pilote’s campervan range. It has the typical single bed layout of an extra-long Fiat Ducato panel van but has been redesigned to offer an extra 20 to 25% more storage in the boot.
It’s the new arrangement here that’s one of the key features. Open the rear doors and you’ll find full-width storage below the end of the beds, with no interruptions. The space measures 1.80m by 72cm with a height of 77cm and if you need more (for bikes, perhaps), you can flip over the end of the mattress, lift the bed base and you have a full-height garage.
Inside, the bedroom beats most rivals because for much of the length of the bedroom (1.38m) there’s just one mattress filling the whole width of the campervan. It’s just at the foot of the bedroom where the beds divide, with a step between for ultra-easy access. Both beds measure 1.90m in length.
At the opposite end, the half-dinette bench is well shaped for passenger comfort and there’s Isofix. The full-height walk-through into the cab also features an overcab sunroof. In fact, the Évidence spec includes virtually everything – the automatic gearbox, awning, two 100W solar panels, a 200Ah lithium battery and diesel/230V heating.
CMC HemBil Tour-Maxi
£92,950
When Concept Multi-Car (CMC, for short) switched its attention from its award-winning pop-top VW Transporter campervans to something bigger, we knew the result would be something special and the Tour-Maxi exhibits the same thoroughly practical approach as its smaller campervans.
It even incorporates the same Reimo sliding seat system, which gives this medium-wheelbase MAN conversion the USP of five belted, crash-tested travel seats – as well as easy bed-making and a good-sized double bed that leaves plenty of floor space, without using the cab seats. The Tour-Maxi comes with diesel heating, a 240W solar panel and a 280Ah lithium battery.
Options include the chemical-free Dry Flush toilet, which solves any issues of emptying off-grid in the back of beyond, and a pop-top for two extra berths reached by a novel rope ladder.
At under six metres in length, CMC’s latest is still quite compact for those Cornish country lanes but it’s remarkably spacious inside, with a particularly generous rear kitchen area.
The use of the MAN/VW Crafter base vehicles pushes up the price but also makes this the driver’s choice amongst larger campervans. As with all CMC vehicles, it’s built to order, so you can spec it exactly to suit your needs and budget.
Best 4x4 campervan 2026
RP Rebellion 2 AWD Pro
£148,000
The best 4x4 off-grid campervan is now better than ever. When RP’s Steve Young was faced with the dilemma of Mercedes-Benz discontinuing the super-high roof version of the Sprinter, he had to develop his own raised roof.
This created the necessary headroom for the Rebellion’s unique elevated rear lounge.
But Steve wasn’t content with simply replicating what Mercedes had offered before. The new top had to have an OEM look to it, while increasing both headroom and storage in what many already considered to be the ultimate in off-road, off-grid campervans. Of course, the latest Rebellion retains the USP of twin top-hinged doors at the rear.
The lower one provides access to a more capacious garage, the top one opening for panoramic views and fresh air in that fabulous rear seating, which at night doubles as a spacious bedroom. The second lounge, up front, has been reconfigured for more comfort and has a new pull-out footstool as well as more room and more comfort for dining or relaxing.
The new kitchen has a vast amount of worktop (over 7ft of Corian counter!) and an optional two-drawer 150-litre compressor fridge and coffee machine. With RP Smart Assist you can control everything from an iPad, while the 24V Advanced Power Management System ensures that you can stay off-grid for as long as you have diesel in the tank.
