Fishpool Holiday Park goes solar
News
Reopening at the end of April, Fishpool Holiday Park in Cheshire will be one of only a handful of holiday parks in the UK to have solar-powered lodges.
After being acquired recently by Ty Gwyn, a third-generation family business based in North Wales, two of the new lodges at the park in Delamere will have solar panels and battery packs.
The holiday park will include a mix of caravans and lodges for rent and sale, while continuing to offer pitches for tourers, both on a nightly and seasonal basis.
Victory Leisure Homes, one of the UK's leading manufacturers of holiday homes and lodges, is supplying the lodges, which can operate as their own energy unit.
The site is also being supplied with 20% BioLPG, by Deeside-based company, CamGas. This provides a sustainable, renewable fuel made from waste residues and plant material and reduces carbon emissions by up to 90%. There will also be electric vehicle charging points for two cars.
Continued landscaping, groundworks and drainage are well under way and new caravans and lodges have been sited, ahead of the reopening.
A major draw of the campsite is nearby Delamere Forest, offering plentiful traffic-free walking and biking trails among established woodland.
