Why the Berghaus 3D Freeflow?

First introduced back in 1996 (no, we can't believe that’s nearly 30 years ago, either), the Berghaus Freeflow was one of the first rucksacks to use back ventilation. The latest incarnation of this classic provides another big step forward in frame design.

Conventional ventilated packs with mesh back systems (like the original Freeflow) often make compromises in stability, storage space, and ease of packing. The new 3D Freeflow technology sets out to minimise the compromises and disadvantages with an ergonomic frame design, 3D-printed spacer pads in the lumbar area and a seamlessly stretched mesh back.

The system provides a consistent air gap of two to four centimetres along the entire length of the back, but keeps the load close to the body for stability. The 2024 range features a variety of Freeflow models in different sizes and fits.

Our verdict

The new Denali Pro is the Scottish firm’s flagship rucksack and is designed for weekend trips and longer stays in the great outdoors.

It features Vango’s Single Adjust Back System (A1), which allows you to quickly and easily adjust the pack with one hand to fit perfectly, while still wearing it. It has lots of pockets, straps and storage options to give you easy access to all your gear while you’re on the move.

Our verdict

Olpro made its name with low-cost but decent-quality family tents and it has now taken that approach into the accessories market. The 40L rucksack is budget-priced but well-equipped for the money.
