About our 2023 Camping Awards
Our annual awards are all about helping you decide how to spend your hard-earned money and it's always a tough job to pick the winners, but some products do stand out from the rest.
When you put so many tents and pieces of equipment through their paces, you really do come to appreciate how much work goes into every aspect of the design and development of new products, all with the aim of enhancing the overall camping experience for you and me.
Which products qualify?
Unlike some awards, manufacturers don't pay to have their products included, we considered all products purely on their merit.
Normally we only consider brand-new models for the awards, but this year is slightly different. The global supply chain issues meant some products that should have been available for the whole of last year were delayed until late in the season or didn’t make it into the shops at all.
The ongoing problems have also meant that some manufacturers have a very limited number of new products in their range – or no new products at all. As a result, this year we have decided to open up the awards to every product that’s on the market.
How do we decide the winners?
It’s always a tough job to pick the winners, but some products definitely stand out from the rest and, in deciding what has won, we take into account value for money, innovation, versatility and style.
Sometimes it just comes down to what has the X factor that sets the tent apart from everything else.
