Best Headtorch
Silva Smini
How did Silva’s lightest headlamp get its name? Because it’s Smini… Sorry, sometimes the compulsion for a dad joke is just too great. The Smini does very much live up to its name, though, weighing just 38.5g (Smini Fly) and small enough to fit into the palm of your hand.
And it proves that great things really do come in small packages, with its 250 lumens this the perfect companion to your lightweight camping trips – and the functional design will also appeal to runners and adventurers.
Highly commended
Ledlenser HF8R Core
The HF8R Core from German LED torch specialist, Ledlenser, is packed with innovative technology, including the unique adaptive beam system, which uses sensors to assess the conditions and adapt the beam accordingly. It will then switch between light modes, from flood to midrange to spot, without you having to lift a finger.
Highly commended
Black Diamond Distance LT 1100
Lightweight and compact, the Distance LT100’s key feature is its removable, pivoting light unit which throws out a very bright beam on full power (600 lumens). In boost mode the beam is increased to 1,100 lumens and reaches an impressive125m, with a simple tap. It reverts back to normal mode after 10 seconds to save power.
