Why the Outwell Stonehill 7 Air?
For some tent manufacturers, ‘entry level’ means something that is as basic as it gets; with all bells and whistles stripped out, it leaves you with little more than a piece of waterproof fabric.
For Outwell, it is a completely different proposition. New for 2024, the Stonehill 7 Air is, in theory, an entry level Outwell tent. But it is one that is packed with the sort of features many brands would save for their top-of-the-range models and that is what sets the Danish company apart from many of its rivals.
Yes, the price tag is perhaps a little higher than others, but this is part of the Deluxe Air range, which is aimed at mid-income families with lots of camping experience, rather than rookies on a tight budget. The many features include three darkened bedrooms at the rear for up to seven people, quiet bedroom access, the HookTrack hanging system, pre-shaped air tubes for more usable headroom and floor space and loads of ventilation throughout.
The Stonehill 7 Air boasts lots of space over three separate zones, making it perfect for larger families or groups.

Our verdict
A spacious seven-berth inflatable AirBeam tent ideal for longer family camping holidays. The built-in front awning provides extra sheltered living space, coupled with Villa Construction to maximise the usable space. It also comes with an additional groundsheet protector, which will protect your groundsheet and tent.

Our verdict
For under a grand, this is a seriously good large family tent, especially as it comes with a carpet and a footprint groundsheet. With space for seven – and the potential to add a two-berth inner tent – it’s one for bigger groups planning longer getaways. The bedrooms feature darkened Twilight material and good ventilation and the enclosed front porch adds more living space.
