Our verdict
The Camping team recently visited the Outwell HQ in Denmark and what a place it is. It's one thing seeing new products on a screen, but Outwell's showroom displays are cleverly staged to really sell the outdoor lifestyle and demonstrate the gear properly. During our visit we were guided into a completely blacked-out room, trying not to bump into each other. Then a dim light appeared and got brighter and brighter until there was a lovely twilight scene. This was Outwell's patented remote-control Nightlight. The existing HookTrack accessory attachment system has been modified with fibre optics.
The remote works from a fair distance (it's been tested up to 500m with a clear line of sight and fresh batteries), so it's bright enough to pinpoint your tent in the dark, but it's not so bright as to disturb other campers. Plus, the power packs are rechargeable with USB-C connections. The lights can be used while plugged in and you can still use the system to hang accessories. The system is initially available on Outwell's new Imperial Air range of tents but will hopefully be extended to other tents in 2024.

Our verdict
BioLite is a great brand that specialises in cleverly designed products. Its new ultralightweight headtorch range claims to deliver the best fit of any headlamp on the market – and it certainly is as comfortable as any we've tried previously. It's made using ultra-thin moisture wicking fabrics and can be recharged via USB.

Our verdict
The Sierra Scout X is made of hemp and recycled plastics, to create a sustainable product. It has night vision mode and water protection and a battery level indicator – and it can work with either standard AAA batteries or the rechargeable Silva Hybrid Battery.
