Salop unveils exclusive holiday homes

Two new caravan holiday homes designed exclusively for Shropshire-dealership Salop Leisure have received an enthusiastic welcome from caravanners.

Joint managing director Dylan Roberts and holiday homes sales director Mike Bates worked with manufacturer Willerby in Hull to come up with the Willerby Shrewsbury, which costs £26,695 and the Willerby Severn, which costs £21,808. Both two-bedroomed models were launched at the West Midlands Caravan and Motorhome Show in April.

“The layout, colour schemes and overall design have been exceptionally well received by customers who are impressed by the excellent value for money offered by both new models,” said Salop Leisure’s chairman Tony Bywater.

“People looking to buy a second hand caravan holiday home can now own a brand new model with a five year guarantee for the same money. We are confident that both models are going to play a major part in our business over the coming year.”

One of the first buyers of the Willerby Shrewsbury is Betty Edwards. A caravanner since the 1990s, Betty previously owned a holiday home at Llanon, near Aberystwyth before deciding to locate her new Willerby Shrewsbury along the Cambrian Coast at Gwynedd Holiday Home Park, Tywyn.

Betty, who has worked in the linen and laundry department at Shelton Hospital, Shrewsbury for 15 years, explained that she fell in love with the Willerby Shrewsbury the moment she saw it, as it ticked all the design boxes and has spacious rooms. She is looking forward to enjoying relaxing weekend breaks and holidays in her new home at Tywyn.

“It’s a lovely park, which is clean and tidy and nothing is too much trouble for managers, Menna and George Freeman,” she said. “Tywyn is not that far from Shrewsbury and I’m looking to spending every weekend and holidays there.

“I shall probably retire next year and be down there as often as I can. I love the freedom of owning a caravan because you can do what you like, when you like and you are not tied to meal times.”
