Introducing the Swift Group S-Pod - an ultra-versatile holiday home
Is it a holiday home? Is it a chalet? Is it an office for siting in your garden? Or is it a tiny, versatile lodge? The answer is all of those things and more besides
The Swift Group has long been known for forward-thinking and innovation – and arguably the S-Pod, produced by the group’s holiday homes division, is the best example yet. This is an ultra-versatile unit, created with luxury at its heart and sophisticated styling to catch your eyes – and also to make you feel very at home, whatever task you have for your S-Pod.
There are two models from which to choose. The S-Pod 6 Escape is capable of sleeping six and the S-Pod 4 sleeps four.

The S-Pod 6 has a deep veranda; you can move the dining table out here for al fresco meals. Inside, the design is clever in the extreme, with stairs leading to a raised bed area that is complete with a television position at the foot of the bed.
Ingenuity abounds and the use of space is impressive. The space under the stairs is occupied by a seat; a perfect place for delving into iPads, a spot of work, perhaps, or spending time in music mode, with headphones on, in a place that’s secluded from the lounge.
The S-Pod 6 sleeps its guests in a king-size bed on the ground floor, twin beds on the upper floor – and the lounge furniture can be converted to a double bed.
The lounge seating is L-shaped – and spacious. Opposite is the kitchen, with a good amount of work surface. Appliances are an integrated under-counter fridge, a full oven, grill and four-burner hob with glass lid and flush-fitted hob extractor, plus a microwave. A suite of cabinets both above and below the kitchen, plus shelving, provide ample storage.
The open-tread staircase takes you to the twin bedroom. Cosy, boutique in style, and with a rooflight in addition to a window on the side, it’s a light and bright environment. Brise-soleil-style barriers are on each side of the staircase, meaning that this bedroom is almost integrated with the day space, yet is most definitely a separate room, because it is on another level.
And the shower room? That’s downstairs, tucked away, conveniently close to the wardrobe, and contains a large shower area and a towel warmer – and enough space to make preening a pleasure.

The S-Pod 4 is smaller – and is just as stylish as its six-berth sibling. There’s a king-size bed (with lift-up storage) at the rear and the lounge can be converted to a double bed. You can step into the shower room from either the bedroom or the hallway. Luxury touches include an illuminated mirror with an infrared sensor switch and demisting area.
And the elements of the S-Pods that you can’t see? That’s 60mm bonded sandwich-construction walls for high thermal efficiency, 100mm roof insulation and 80mm floor insulation. The chassis is galvanised and S-Pods have a coated steel pantile roof. Both models have gas central heating.
