Picking your perfect park in virtual reality

Exciting, State of the art, innovative. That's how Harrison Leisure describes its latest development.

North West holiday company Harrison Holiday Homes recent launched a unique virtual reality experience invented to help buyers decide which park – and which home – to buy.

The company set up the new venture to enhance the firm's New Statics For Sale service.

The enticing invitation from Harrison Holiday Homes is a compelling one: “Travel around your favourite park or search our range of caravans and lodges from the comfort of our two ‘Coast to Country’ themed experience rooms."

The experience takes you into a 3D world in which, as you physically turn around, you see the view all around you.

It all happens from a headset – and starts with a map. When you put on the headset, you initially see a map of the UK. Pins locate regions; for example, Wales, or the Lake District. When you focus on one of the pins, the visual takes you to that area.

The next stage in the virtual journey takes you to specific holiday homes parks within the region you’ve chosen to explore. No mouse is involved – it's all done in response to where you focus on the screen.

You've got to a particular park. Now you experience a 3D video of that park so that you can explore it in detail.

Mark Dalton of Harrison Leisure explains:

"You can see the whole environment, leaves blowing off trees, waves lapping against the jetty on Lake Windermere, for example. You feel as if you’re there. You turn around, and you see a manor house behind you.You really can explore the world of caravanning like never before."

The virtual reality experience is at Harrison Leisure’s head office in the village of Banks, near Southport. It’s a five-and-a-half-acre site where more than 60 models of caravans and lodges are on display, from Willerby, Atlas, Carnaby and ABI.

Signature range

There’s another new element to this leisure company’s offering: an exclusive Signature Range, introduced for 2017.

Four unique models, with exclusive additions, form the Signature Range. These are the Willerby Countrystyle and Peppy 2, the Carnaby Lifestyle and Atlas Style.

Atlas Style

The Atlas style’s unique features include a pantile roof, extra insulation, an integrated microwave and front French doors. And you can choose your exterior colour and cladding

Carnaby Lifestyle

This model gets the addition of the Ultra Warm Pack, including water-based central heating, enhanced insulation, Bluetooth lounge ceiling speakers, integrated dishwasher and a gas0strut lift-up under-bed storage area.

Willerby Countrystyle

Additional equipment includes central heating, USB sockets, upgraded bedding and enhanced comfort mattress.

Willerby Peppy 2

Extra equipment that distinguishes this model includes central heating, double glazing and an upgraded bedding pack.
