Designed for motorhome touring, whatever the season
One of the Esprit’s biggest strengths is its ability to cope with year-round touring. Rather than simply adding more insulation, Dethleffs has designed the vehicle around a heated double-floor construction.
This insulated cavity houses the fresh and waste water tanks, pipework and many of the vehicle’s services, protecting them from freezing temperatures while also creating additional storage space beneath the floor. The result is a motorhome that’s just as comfortable on a ski trip as it is exploring southern Europe in summer.
Heating extends into the rear garage to help dry outdoor equipment, while rear-ventilated overhead lockers help reduce condensation when travelling in colder weather.
Many Esprit models are also equipped with the highly regarded Alde wet central heating system, which provides an even, domestic-style warmth throughout the motorhome and is often preferred by experienced tourers who spend long periods travelling in cooler climates.
Plus the models come on the proven and popular Al-Ko chassis offering better weight distribution, lower floor height, improved stability and handling.
The benefits of an A-class layout
At 7.81m long, the Esprit offers the spacious feel that attracts many buyers to A-class motorhomes in the first place.
Because the cab is fully integrated into the living area, there’s a greater sense of openness than in many coachbuilt designs. A completely flat floor runs from the windscreen through to the rear bedroom, making it easier to move around while also contributing to the vehicle’s airy interior.

The kitchen centres around a generous 177-litre fridge-freezer with a dual-hinged door that can be opened from either side, making it easy to access whether you’re preparing lunch inside or grabbing drinks from either end of the motorhome. Storage has clearly been prioritised too, with plenty of drawers and cupboards alongside the oven, hob and sink.
The central washroom uses a combination of doors to create separate living zones within the motorhome. Close one door and the bedroom and washroom become a private suite; close another and you create a full-width dressing area that makes excellent use of the available space.
Whichever rear bedroom layout you choose, the emphasis is on comfort and storage, with generous wardrobes, overhead lockers and easy access around the beds helping make extended touring feel less cramped than in many motorhomes.
A garage designed for real touring
Storage is another area where the Esprit impresses.
The heated rear garage offers a payload of up to 250kg and is accessible from both sides of the motorhome. Anti-slip flooring, load-securing rails, LED lighting and a 230V socket all add to its practicality, whether you're carrying bikes, outdoor furniture or bulkier touring equipment.
For many owners, it's this ability to carry everything needed for longer trips that makes the Esprit particularly appealing.
