West Country park grows up

It is only weeks since Organford Manor Country Park near Poole, Dorset, was re-classified from being a holiday caravan site to full legal status as a residential park-home estate.

Cream on the jam comes with news of a fresh development of 14 additional plots in a new phase with homes due to become available in April.

There has been a holiday park at Organford for decades. But, in 2014, present owner Henry Simmons’ Tranquility Parks took over and, since then, this 21-acre park with 45 plots has been completely rejuvenated with the tents and tourers removed.

The changes, including new roads, drainage, street lighting and landscaping, have resulted in the park being reclassified, with owners now having the all-year-round protection of the Mobile Homes Act.

Other features of Organford include remote-control electric gates, CCTV and parking for at least one car alongside each home. Pets are allowed and the minimum age is 45.

Monthly plot fees at Organford are £200 including water and sewerage as well as wi-fi.

Turnkey-prices on the new development, to be called Bluebell Court, will range from £179,950 up to £399,950. Nearly all of the homes will be twin units.
