Record sales at Sand le Mere

Sand le Mere Holiday Village on the East Yorkshire Coast has sold over 100 holiday caravans so far in 2011 and now expects to nearly double last year’s sales.

The independently owned park near Hornsea has also achieved record holiday hire bookings this season, up 40 per cent on 2010.

Set in more than 100 acres of Yorkshire countryside and coastline, near the pretty village of Tunstall and within easy reach of two Blue Flag beaches, the park is just one or two hours drive from most parts of West and South Yorkshire, including Hull, Leeds and York.

As well as offering holiday homes for hire, Sand le Mere offers people the chance to own their own holiday home to enjoy seaside breaks all year round, with a wide range of caravans and new luxury lodges for sale.

, says:  “We have just reached our 100 caravan sales target, which far outstrips sales in previous years of around 65, and we expect to have sold 120 by the end of the year,” said Andrew Howe, Chief Executive of Bridge Leisure, owners of the park.

“Not only is this fantastic news for the park and its owners, it’s also great news for the area in general. We have seen lots of people from the nearby Hull area and further afield in Yorkshire buying holiday homes this year and it’s great to know that so many are rediscovering the beauty and benefits of holidaying locally and investing in the caravan industry, which is such a vital part of the area’s economy.”

Bridge leisure is investing £4 million this winter in a new £4million central facilities complex, which is set to open in time for the 2012 season, creating 20 new local jobs.

Existing onsite facilities include an outdoor heated swimming pool, private fresh water fishing, hot tub, fitness suite, trampolines, play areas, adventure playground, club house, family room, launderette, shop, diner, crazy golf and bouncy castle.

The new facilities will host daytime and evening entertainment and will include a bar and restaurant, show lounge, arcade, shop, cafe, takeaway, kids soft play area, gym, indoor pool with splash zone and wet-play areas, sun terrace with outdoor seating, plus outdoor leisure and play areas.

The park offers a range of new and second-hand caravans for sale, with prices starting from £6,995.
