FAMILY DEVELOP NEW ESSEX LEISURE LODGE ESTATE

806bb901-7d89-4abf-ba48-fb247145076a
A transformation is taking place at Elm Farm Country Park in the village of Thorpe-le-Soken, Essex. Located a few miles inland from Frinton-on-Sea, this 22-acre gated holiday estate is being redeveloped to provide a luxury leisure lodge park.

The owners of Elm Farm are Neil and Sarah Morris and their family’s involvement dates all the way back to the 1950s.
Working in association with the Dream Lodge Group, Neil is now transforming this park into a 21st century leisure development.

Access roads are being block paved, with each lodge having its own block-paved parking space. All have natural gas laid on, thanks to new mains. A new entrance with electrically-operated gates – residents are issued with remote controls – gives access.

In Phase One of development at this Country Park, open from March 1 to January 14, 33 lodges, all twin units, are being sited in several small groups. Extensive landscaping is well advanced.

Phase Two, using some adjoining land, will eventually see the development of up to 90 more plots plus a fishing lake.
In the meantime, Neil plans gradually to upgrade the holiday caravans on site to single-unit, 12ft and 13ft-wide leisure lodges built to the higher BS3632 standard. He is also planning to install wi-fi and cctv.

At the time of my visit there were two leisure lodge show homes available for sale: a 42x20 Prestige Ardingly; and a 42x20 Country Homes Lakeland Lodge (prices on application).

Vacant plots were available for leisure lodges up to 50x22, with guideline prices starting at £140,000. Pitch fees are £2,970 per annum. For more information visit www.elmfarmcountrypark.co.uk
