Britannia lowers pitch fees

BRITANNIA Parks is planning to lower the pitch fees across its estates when the pitch fee review arrives this month.

“This year, for the first time in 50 years, the RPI in September was negative by 1.4%,” said the company’s General Manager Richard Sigsworth.

“We propose to apply this decrease to the pitch fees on our parks, so they will be reduced by 1.4% in 2010. We are consistent in applying the September RPI figure (announced in October) each year.”

Some park operators are confusing the situation of pitch fee reductions, trying to avoid giving their residents reductions in their monthly pitch fee payments.

But Britannia Parks, which prides itself on its honesty and integrity, feels that after year-on-year pitch fee increases when the RPI has been raised it is only fair and legal to give a reduction when the RPI figure is a negative figure.

Britannia is also in the process of re-branding, and by the end of January all its parks will have new signage, as well as new flags and poles.

“The aim is to strengthen the brand image and improve the appearance of the park,” said Richard, “and it is only one small step in Britannia’s plans. Internal road signs will follow in 2010, along with further improvements work.”

The first installation of signage is costing in the region of £60,000, none of which is being passed on to the residents.

In another development, during 2010 Britannia will be working with Grand UK Holidays – one of the country’s largest operators of holidays for the over-55s. Keep an eye out for forthcoming special offers and competitions to win a free holiday.
