Britannia grabs the big one

THE Britannia Parks Group has bought Kings Park Village at Canvey Island, Essex, the largest residential home park in the country.

Britannia Parks was established only two years ago, but in that time it has made a number of acquisitions of high quality residential and leisure parks across the country.

This latest purchase brings the number of parks in the group to 20, and the number of homes to more than 2,300, making Britannia Parks one of the market leaders in the residential park home industry.

Kings Park Village has some 720 plots and more than 1,200 residents. It is set in 80 acres of landscaped lawns and gardens with its own shop, social club and swimming pool.

Britannia director Michael Prideaux said: “Kings Park Village is the premier residential home park in the UK, and we look forward to welcoming the residents of Kings Park Village to Britannia Parks.

“This large acquisition is a clear signal of our ongoing commitment to purchase more parks in the future and to develop Britannia Parks further as a professional buyer and operator of residential parks across the UK.”

The Britannia Parks Group recently also acquired Kingsmead Parks and is now the second largest residential parks operator in the UK. With headquarters in Surrey, it has parks across the country from Cornwall to Lincolnshire to Kent.

Over a quarter of a million people in the UK have decided to live on residential home parks, and Britannia estimates that the market is growing at about 20% per year.
