Premier Park bags five star award

The owners of a Lake District holiday park are the winners of the coveted Cumbria Tourism Holiday Park of the Year Award. The award recognises the quality of the park and the enthusiasm and professionalism of the team there.

This award was the grand finale for Park Cliffe, a Premier Park, as it came shortly after achieving the 5 star VisitEngland Gold Award, 5 Pennants AA Gold Park Award, as well as winning the Practical Caravan and Motorhome Magazines’ Top 100 Sites Regional Winner and gaining the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence!

Susan Dickson, joint owner of Park Cliffe along with her husband Derek, said, “We couldn’t believe it when they announced that we’d won this Cumbria Tourism award. It’s always highly contested and Cumbria has some fantastic holiday parks, so it was music to our ears.”

These were the 14th Cumbria Tourism Awards which were set up to celebrate the very best the industry has to offer. Winners of these awards are then given the opportunity to compete at a national level in the VisitEngland Awards

In coming to a decision on the winner for this award, the judges had decided that, “Park Cliffe excels at customer service and is welcoming and friendly from the minute visitors arrive. Great facilities offer every comfort, and a well laid out, attractive park ensures the most is made of its beautiful setting and exceptional views.”

Park Cliffe started life as a small farm-based camping site over 50 years ago.  Today, it covers 25-acres of naturally screened open countryside and woodland above the eastern shores of Windermere. It draws holidaymakers from across the UK and overseas, and guests can camp or bring their touring caravan or motor home.
