The AA has revealed the winners of its Caravan and Camping Awards for 2021 with a Premier Park landing the prestigious campsite of the year title

South Lytchett Manor Caravan & Camping Park in Poole, Dorset, has been named overall AA Campsite of the Year 2021 as well as the winner for England.

AA inspectors said South Lytchett was an “elite touring park with superb glamping and excellent customer care” and praised the “passionate, hands-on” owners.

Recent improvements include a new café, six new glamping pods, 21 new hardstanding pitches, and the addition of two posh mobile toilet units in the touring and camping fields.

Premier Parks is a collection of 100 of the best, high-quality campsites across the UK and Ireland, independently inspected and rated by the editorial teams at Camping, Caravan, MMM and Campervan magazines.

The other winning campsites

Another Premier Parks campsite, Swiss Farm Touring and Camping, in Oxfordshire, was named regional campsite of the year for southeast England.

Winner of Campsite of the Year for Scotland was Brighouse Bay Holiday Park in Dumfries and Galloway, with Pencelli Castle Caravan & Camping Park in Powys receiving the award for Wales.

The Glamping Site of the Year award was won by Concierge Camping in Chichester, West Sussex, which previously won regional campsite of the year for the southeast in 2019.

Park Foot Caravan & Camping Park in Pooley Bridge, Cumbria, was named Holiday Centre of the Year.

The winner of Most Improved Campsite Of The Year was Riverside Camping, Caernarvon, Gwynedd, and the Small Campsite of the Year was Red Bank Farm, Bolton le Sands, Lancashire.

The AA guide

The winners all feature in the 54th edition of the AA Caravan and Camping Guide.

Each of the sites in the guide has been visited by one of the AA’s campsite inspectors, who grade them from one to five pennants, based on their facilities and hospitality.
