WHO’S IT FOR?
A good option as a starter trailer tent for families thinking about upgrading from a tent

WHAT’S IT LIKE?
The 2019 Camplair S is a compact and easy trailer tent to erect and, at under £4,000, is a great value option for campers new to trailer tents. In fact it is probably the most affordable new trailer tent on the market right now. But while it has a budget price-tag, the Camplair S is not lacking in quality. It’s designed and made by leading French manufacturers Trigano and benefits from their production, assembly and quality control expertise.

The main cabin can be put up single-handedly in under 10 minutes. The inner tents are already set up inside, so it’s simply a case of opening and folding out the trailer. The beds, frame, canvas and inners all deploy at the same time. And for quick, overnight stops it can be used on its own like this. For weekends and longer holidays, the modern dome-shaped awning is easily attached to the cabin, again it’s easily done by one person.

The main cabin has two good-size double beds, each in their own inner tent. Mesh-backed windows on three sides of the sleeping compartments provide plenty of ventilation. Between the two double beds is a central area with storage lockers. For larger families, you have the option of upgrading to six berths by fitting under-bed sleeping compartments.

With the awning attached, the unit has a good-sized, enclosed living area that is perfectly adequate for a family holiday. There is enough room for a dining table and four chairs, as well as camping kitchen equipment and storage. And if you need even more space, an optional extension awning is available.

Smaller items like books and chargers can be stashed in the built-in storage pockets on either side of the cabin entrance. The tent cotton is high quality Ten Cate canvas, which is waterproof, airy and has an excellent lifespan.

WHAT’S GOOD?
Easy and quick to pitch and offers versatility. Plenty of interior space. Good quality and great value for money. Easy to tow for beginners.
