Bright and spacious, with lots of comfortable space for living, the Buckland is an excellent value family tent that’s easy to pitch and offers flexible camping options.
WHO’S IT FOR?
The Buckland is big enough to accommodate up to eight campers but would be ideal for a family of up to six – and the visa a vis layout makes it good for older kids who want a bit more privacy.
WHAT’S IT LIKE?
The layout of this poled tent is vis a vis (literally face-to-face), which means the bedrooms are at opposite ends of the tent with a central living area in between. In some tents this can mean the living area is a bit dark, but the large PVC/mesh windows as well as the smaller high level skylights here let in plenty of light. There’s a decent amount of floor space for furniture and storage without blocking the access and numerous storage pockets. The bedrooms have mesh panels on the doors for ventilation and darkened material to stop light getting in early in the morning. Each pod has two double rooms, that can be opened out into one large space by removing the zip divider. The tent has low level ventilation panels throughout which helps the flow of air and keeps down condensation. The optional zip-on front extension adds to the living space.
Lots of positives about this tent - there’s lots of living and storage space and plenty of light and ventilation; the vis a vis style is handy for older families.
WHAT COULD BE IMPROVED?
The flysheet only has a 3,000mm hydrostatic head rating, which is on the low side, although should be fine for most circumstances. Also the window covers are outside rather than inside.
