PITCHING
As with all inflatable, tunnel tents, pitching is straightforward. You start by laying the tent out flat and pegging down the corners, then start to inflate via the single valve point. The size of the tent means you will really need a second person to help push the poles up into place as you pump them up. The tent has lots of luminous guylines for stability.

LIVING
The Montana has one large single, living room with lots of space for furniture and storage. The pre-angled poles give the tent more usable floorspace, as well as providing greater headroom. The side annexe can be used for storage, a lobby or even as a toilet cubicle and there is more living space outside, thanks to the large, pre-attached canopy. The large PVC windows, which have zip down curtains, mean the tent is bright and airy. As well as access through the front, there are doors in the side annexe and on the opposite side of the tent. The front door has a drop-down step to allow safe access.

SLEEPING
The enlarged sleeping area is split into two with a zip divider. An exciting new addition for 2016 is the bedroom windows, both at the side and rear. The windows have zippable mesh panels for ventilation plus toggle curtains. There are also mesh panel on the doors.

Outwell’s Montana is a camping classic – a super family tent that seems to just get better with age. This latest version has been re-imagined for 2016 as an inflatable tent, packed with features that provide comfort and convenience for your family getaways. The windows in the extra large bedrooms are a welcome new addition and the consideration for campers’ needs stretches right down to the cable entry points. There are two – which makes running a cable to the EHU so much easier. The single inflation point means inflating it all in one go can be tiring but Outwell have a solution to that as well – the new optional electric pump! Overall, this is a wonderful top-of-the range tent.
