WHO’S IT FOR?
The Edmonds 5A is best suited for small families and could be used for full summer holidays as well as shorter escapes.

WHAT’S IT LIKE?
With three separate zones, the Edmonds 5A is ideal for family holidays. The front room has a detachable groundsheet that means you can use it as a wet room and for storeage. You could easily fit a couple of bikes in here if you didn’t want to leave them outside. Alternatively the huge front entrance can be opened up to allowing you enough ventilation to use it as a camping kitchen and/or dining area. The large interior door leads into the main living area, which has good headroom throughout, thanks to the pre-angled beams. Doors on both sides have PVC windows and mesh panels and provide flexible access. There is decent floor space, with enough room for a table and chairs as well as storage units. The living area also has 10 storage pockets for stashing away small items like books, torches and devices. The bedrooms are darkened to regulate temperature and keep out morning sun. There are more storage pockets at ground level and the rooms are 3+2 with a removable zip divider to create one large sleeping area. Outwell themselves say the tent would be comfortable for four rather than five.

WHAT’S GOOD?
Flexible accommodation, with three zones – a wet room, dry room and sleeping area. Qulaity materials with lots of Outwell features, such as tinted windows, good ventilation and the thermo-reflective coating over the bedrooms.

WHAT COULD BE IMPROVED?
We can’t think of anything obvious, although the price tag might put a few people off a tent that is not a top of the range model.
