If there’s one thing we’ve learned over the last 12 months, it’s that just because you can do something, it doesn’t necessarily mean you should do it. For example, as much as we love camping, the thought of sharing a tent with 12 other people fills us with terror. But that’s what the impressive new Airedale 9.0SE from Outdoor Revolution is offering. Luckily, there’s no rule that says you must go camping with an entire rugby league team.

There’s no getting away from the fact that Airedale 9.0SE is a vast tent, though. And that is a good thing, especially if you have a family with older kids who want privacy. What really makes this tent stand out is its use of Outdoor Revolution’s unique double side-annexe feature. These side rooms are built onto the sides of the tent, feature their own access doors and can be used as storage space, an extra living area or as a two-berth bedroom.

The pods can be sealed completely from the tent’s main living area and are effectively ‘a tent within a tent’. The 9.0SE has one of these annexes on each side, allowing you to add four additional beds to the basic seven berths in the three darkened bedrooms along the rear. And, with the addition of an optional inner tent to the living area, you can take the capacity up to 13. Phew!

More realistically, this is a tent for a large family of five and is especially good for longer holidays, where you want space to relax and spread out. A large zip-back panel with mesh windows separates the main living area from the integral front porch.

A combination of low-level and rear vents plus a large mesh side door in the new double-width patio-style make for excellent air flow.
