Hi-Tec MT Nevis Boots

WE HAVE already reported on Hi-Tec’s leather Altitude (Talking shop, February issue) and I am pleased to report that they are still being used daily by our tester – and that they are still performing well. Now we have the fabric Mt Nevis and I am happy to say that its narrower fit suit my feet a treat.

Of course, the big story here is the use of Ion-Mask technology that keeps out water and dirt while allowing the feet to breathe – although, in synthetic footwear, it is hard to see how without using a membrane? It also allows Hi-Tec to make a lighter boot, aided by its latest V-Lite out- and mid-soles. The effect is noticeable and your feet feel less stressed over longer walks. Any stones felt through the soles only aid foot placement and do not bruise the foot. Further, grip and flex feel positive and far more in tune to the body’s natural movement.

These have rapidly booted out old favourites and I am looking forward to a season of problem-free walks. Get yourself down to your local specialist retailer and, if these fit your foot, give them a try.

We have also got the ladies £80 V-Lite Cypress WPi version on test and they are proving equally adept at keeping feet secure and comfortable during daily rambles.

Expect to pay £80 Web www.hi-tec.com
