PITCHING
Inflatable tents are easy, but who needs them when pitching is as quick and simple as this? The three colour-coded fibreglass poles slide easily into their sleeves and the construction is completed by attaching the final pole for the front canopy. It’s easy for one person to do on their own, and with a bit of practice it should all be done in 15 minutes.

LIVING
Although it’s a relatively small tent, there’s no compromise on comfort, with a full-height door and lots of headroom in the living area. The impressive 4,500mm hydrostatic head rating on the flysheet combined with the strong and waterproof PE groundsheet will ensure that you stay dry, whatever the weather, and the porch over the door gives extra shelter. There’s enough floorspace for a table and chairs and even some storage furniture.

SLEEPING
The sleeping area is split into two (3+2) or can be left as one large room for up to five. It features Coleman’s innovative BlackOut bedrooms, which literally plunge the rooms into complete darkness, even when the sun is shining brightly outside. Ventilation comes via the rear panel and there are storage pockets in the side walls.

OUR VIEW
The most important factor when it comes to buying a tent for touring or weekend trips, is how easy and quick it is to pitch. After all, if you are only going to be on site for a short period of time, you really don’t want to spend ages putting your tent up (and packing it away) when you could be off doing more interesting things instead. The Rocky Mountain 5 Plus is a spacious, easy-to-pitch, tunnel tent, offering a comfortable home-from-home in the great outdoors.
