Park home review: Tingdene Homes Cosgrove park home

6dff82af-fb2c-474b-921e-df6a8936a981

The unveiling of Tingdene’s new compact home really makes waves in the park home market. The Cosgrove is a masterpiece in clever design, creating a bright, light lounge, a lovely dining kitchen and it packs in a lot of storage space.

This home was created in response to increasing demand for what is termed ‘single’ units. It’s 12 feet wide. Yet it’s 42 feet long, so there’s plenty of space in all areas of the home.

The Cosgrove’s proportions have a lot of advantages, especially for buyers looking closely at the economic advantages of downsizing. Think smaller plot size, so smaller plot fees; think less transport cost to get the home to your chosen park; think smaller heating bills. And, of course, the cost of the home itself; a smaller home is going to cost you less than a larger one. All of these factors can be really important when you are taking decisions based on the advantages of downsizing.

Tingdene Cosgrove

Tingdene’s designers have created a home that’s light, airy and spacious. This is how they have achieved that: the lounge is square, with a dining kitchen, almost square, next along the layout. Then comes the really clever bit: the shower room is in the centre of the layout – and it’s a very luxurious, gorgeous shower room.

Another clever bit is that the second bedroom is a single, rather than a double; most will agree that a second bedroom doesn’t have to be a double and this room is plenty large enough to become a hobbies room, too.

The décor theme is white and pale cream. The vaulted ceiling in the lounge creates a spacious feel.Lounge fabrics in subtle cream (for the upholstery), pale fawn (for the lovely deep-pile carpet), dark grey and white (for the curtains) and taupe for the coffee and TV tables, combine to create both cosiness and modernity. A big grey and white rug adds to the cosy quality of the lounge.

Through the open doorway to the kitchen the white-and-cream theme continues, with white walls and pale cream matt-finish units. Panelled doors inject a suggestion of shaker style. The long metal handles are a style statement, too.

We love the chrome-framed cream upholstered dining chairs and glass table that stands on a chrome base. We also love the generous amount of storage space in the kitchen.

The shower room has a large, chrome towel warmer and the shower unit has both a drench and directional function.

The Cosgrove makes a big statement that park homes don’t have to be large to be stunning.
