Leisure lodge review: Oakwood Park and Leisure Homes
Oakwood Park and Leisure Homes is best known for making residential park homes. Now, though, the family-run, Doncaster-based manufacturer has produced a range of four leisure lodges.
They’re at four distinct levels of specification and price, so that there’s something for a wide variety of budgets.
The Oakwood team provides an individual service for each customer, working with buyers to create the perfect home for their tastes.
Holly leisure lodge
The range starts with the Holly, a 40ft by 20ft lodge which has crisp, modern styling. The distinctive white and blue colour scheme gives the Holly a seaside vibe; buyers, though, can choose alternative schemes if they wish. The dining, lounge and kitchen area is open-plan, with wood-laminate flooring throughout, and a rug placed between the two facing settees to enhance the cosiness of the lounge area. A vaulted ceiling and French doors ensure the lodge has a light, bright look.
Cedar leisure lodge
The Cedar is a smaller lodge – but, as Oakwood says, it has a ‘big personality’.
Its dining, lounge and kitchen area is open-plan – and it packs a lot into its 42ft by 14ft dimensions, having two bedrooms (one with a walk-in wardrobe) and two bathrooms.
Pale cabinetry, soft furnishings in an aqua shade and clever use of grey give the Cedar a distinctive look. As with all of Oakwood’s lodges, though, buyers can select different colours.
Maple leisure lodge
The 42ft by 20ft Maple was first launched as a three-bedroom lodge. Now, though, buyers can choose to have two bedrooms – and a much larger living area. That’s the version pictured on these pages.
Styling can be as bold or subtle as you wish. You can go for creams and fawns, for example, with curtains inspired by tartan design. Or you can opt for nut-brown upholstery, pale grey laminate flooring and white and pale grey walls. Whatever colours you choose, the Maple is a stunning lodge with lots of space.
The lounge area is furnished with two big settees positioned to face a focal point; you can go for a log burner-effect fire or choose a television
area as the focus of attention instead.
The dining suite seats six, making the statement that the Maple is designed with entertaining in mind.
Elder leisure lodge
Oakwood’s flagship lodge has a cutting-edge layout that provides a large central living area and bedrooms at each end. Its styling is ultra-modern.
Two skylights ensure the kitchen is an exceptionally light environment. Two sets of French doors open from the central area of the lounge.
The 50ft by 22ft Elder has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. This impressive lodge has two seating areas in the lounge, a six-seater dining suite and a large, L-shaped kitchen.
A true family lodge, then.
