Correctdeck – an alternative decking product

dcaf00e7-5c22-44fe-b1c3-0e2fd0288936
WHAT Correctdeck vaunt as special qualities are expressed in such phrases as “Correctdeck will not rot, splinter or decay like wood”, “Correctdeck is made to withstand all types of weather for years to come”, “Correctdeck combines the beauty of wood with the durability of plastic”. You get the picture! The particular combination used by Correctdeck is recycled hardwood fibre and polypropylene plastic.

If you are a fan of Grand Designs (Channel 4) you may have already seen Correctdeck. Peter and Christine Benjamin used an extensive deck area from Correctdeck, with surrounding steps, to enhance their fabulous part modern/part trad new-build house. It certainly looks the part on the Channel 4 website.

Correctdeck is imported into the UK from the US by Environmental Composites. There are three grades of planking and all are finished in a woodgrain appearance and texture, designed to resist slip. Correctdeck claims to be stiffer and the particular profile is resistant to scratching.

The basic grade has all the above qualities. Correctdeck CX is treated with Microban, a layer built in during manufacturing. This anti-bacterial ingredient resists the growth of mould and mildew, as well as fighting grease stains and fading.

The Correctdeck colours I found particularly attractive. Basic Correctdeck comes in cedar, coastal grey and mahogany. In addition to these three, Correctdeck CX offers natural pastel shades of sand, pebble and sage, and two darker colours, merlot and cottage green.
