Greenacres Park, Nottinghamshire

99b22338-e17c-4443-b6c7-8a3ac3bb4ecb
THIS charming tree-lined park is well served by regular delivery services providing milk and dairy produce, newspapers, and a two-weekly mobile library.

The presence of a resident park manager ensures peace of mind and security for all park residents.

The park is also close to the National Water Sports Centre and Country Park, with facilities for rowing, sailing and windsurfing. Its close proximity to the River Trent will appeal to fishing enthusiasts.

Access to the park is excellent, with nearby major roads to neighbouring towns and cities, and the Ml motorway, within nine miles.

Local shops, a launderette and other basic amenities are within a five-minute walk.

Major stores, supermarkets and further leisure and sporting facilities are available in Nottingham, some two miles away.

Nottingham is home to some of the best shopping  in the UK, an exciting cultural calendar, and recognised nationally for the quality of its restaurants and bars. Its compact city centre, pedestrianised streets and tram system make it easy to get around.

Once part of a royal hunting forest, Sherwood Forest Country Park covers 450 acres and incorporates some truly ancient areas of native woodland where slender birch trees grow alongside more than one thousand veteran oaks, most of which are over five hundred years old.

The largest and most famous of these is the Major Oak, linked throughout the world to Sherwood Forest’s legendary hero, the outlaw Robin Hood.

At the entrance to the country park is Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre with an exhibition on Robyn Hodes Sherwode, two shops and the Forest Table Restaurant. A Site of Special Scientific Interest and Nottinghamshire’s first National Nature Reserve, the forest is also home to a wide variety of flora and fauna that live on the dead wood and among the fallen leaves.
