DEVELOPED exclusively for the over-50s on the edge of the picturesque village of Newcastleton in the Scottish Borders, Riverview Holiday Park is the ideal place to escape the pressures of everyday life.

A brand new, private development of only 37 lodges bordering the River Liddle, each home is designed to make your stay as relaxing as possible.

Maintenance and repair costs are kept to a minimum and all the gardens are easy to upkeep. All you need to do when you arrive is pour a glass of wine and maybe grab your fishing rod, as residents can fish for salmon and trout on a five mile stretch of the river.

On the fringes of Newcastleton with its bank, health centre, post office and shops, the park is well placed for exploring the historically rich Scottish Borders region.

Just 25 miles from Carlisle and 21 miles from Hawick, the larger towns and cities of Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow are only an hour and a half away.

The site has the feel of a country park, with landscaped grounds and communal gardens. Each lodge has its own blockpaved driveway, private garden and patio, and central heating and double glazing come as standard.

For peace of mind when you’re on and off site, a park manager is always around to offer help and extra security.

How many bedrooms you opt for and what type of kitchen you would prefer is all down to you as you can choose from a range of lodge designs from the UK’s biggest manufacturers – including Tingdene, Reiver and Stately.

All the properties are fully furnished, and once you have chosen your holiday home you can customise the layout and décor to suit your tastes.

So how much will this slice of country living cost? The answer is cheaper than you might think.

Prices for a two-bedroom fully furnished lodge start at just £69,000. Even a top of the range three-bedroom design will only set you back around £120,000.
