Hymer launches new Venture S campervan

German motorhome manufacturer Hymer's Vision Venture concept of 2019 has evolved into the Venture S, which is now on sale

When the Hymer Vision Venture concept car was unveiled at the Caravan Salon Düsseldorf in 2019, the motorhome manufacturer from Bad Waldsee, Germany, revealed its view of how motorhomes might look in 2025. That vision is now a reality as Hymer celebrates the launch of its new Venture S.

Packed with innovations, such as the Instant Loft – a pneumatic pop-top roof including a true staircase – as well as the striking tailgate and exclusive sun deck, the Venture S is a motorhome quite unlike any other.

Christian Bauer, President of Hymer GmbH & Co KG, says,

With the Venture S we have reimagined motorhoming from the ground up while drawing inspiration from the needs and ideas of the vanlife community.

The new model is a comprehensively equipped off-roader for two people, with a compact vehicle length of 6.46m and a narrow vehicle body (2.16m). Based on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 419 CDI chassis-cowl with all-wheel drive and studded tyres, it is offered in Stone Grey or Sea Blue Metallic with honeycomb design graphics. It has a maximum gross weight of either 3,880kg or 4,100kg and has the 190bhp engine as standard.

Hymer says it has revolutionised the living experience in a modern campervan, thanks to its two levels. A powerful compressor allows the pop-top roof to fully inflate in less than three minutes and its two-chamber system is claimed to keep out noise, light and temperature differences while you sleep. Even the firmness of the mattress can be adjusted via the Hymer Connect app!

The bedroom can be safely reached in the dark thanks to the illuminated steps – like a proper staircase – with storage compartments integrated into the steps.

Downstairs, the layout includes a rear lounge, the highlight of which is the Infinity Screen made of real glass, which surrounds all three sides of the comfortable seating area and offers incredible views while flooding the interior with daylight. In conjunction with the felt-look wall covering, it creates a harmonious interior ambience.

When not in use, the adjustable table with its solid bamboo tabletop can be easily folded up and stored underneath the bench seat. Then, in fine weather, the open tailgate of the Venture S further expands the living space, with a yacht-style sun deck with 350kg load capacity.

In the kitchen, a multifunctional wall lets you customise the available storage space in the form of hooks, shelves and containers, and a drawer with storage for a chopping board extends the worktop.

Innovative materials are used throughout the Venture S to ensure the optimum balance of function, appearance and weight – the metal worktop surprises with its soft feel and matt finish, which prevents glare when driving. It is also resistant to fingerprints and scratches. The tile backsplash is made from a solid-surface composite based on powdered stone. The new Slate Light Rocks furniture finish resembles real slate, with the feel of real natural stone. It is also robust and easy to clean.

The Venture S also features ‘two sanitary rooms in one’ as a single movement changes the washroom – including an optional ceramic toilet, washbasin, mirror and built-in cupboards – into an even larger washroom with a floor-level shower. A 120-litre tank provides the fresh water.

More than just for leisure, the Venture S includes a home office concept. In a matter of seconds, the desk integrated into the side wall behind the cab seat can be set up as an individual work station. And you shouldn’t want for power, thanks to three 115W solar panels, six strategically positioned 230V sockets and eight USB ports.

In combination with the Hymer Smart Battery System 2.0 and 320Ah lithium batteries, as well as the standard inverter, Hymer reckons you can enjoy up to 10 days of self-sufficiency.

The Venture S is equipped with a mobile Sonos Smart Speaker that can be attached to the wall panels and an optional projector including screen and wall mount is available for watching your favourite films. Various components of the living area can also be controlled centrally via a smartphone, through the Hymer Connect App, or via built-in 7in touchscreen display.

The Venture S is now on sale with a price on the German market of €225,000. The only optional extras listed are the Sea Blue bodywork, electric awning, projector and screen, bamboo shower column and ceramic toilet, and underfloor air-conditioning.
