Elddis goes all the way back to 1964, marking its sixtieth anniversary this year. While it may be a little younger, the Autoquest name is one of the company’s oldest in motorhome terms, being introduced in 1988.

However, to mark the company’s big anniversary, there will be a special edition pack for all its motorhomes, including the six models in the Autoquest range, which offers a wide range of lengths and layouts to suit different motorhoming needs.

The most compact is the two-berth 115 at 6.15m long. It’s got a classic layout with a rear kitchen and washroom, and lounge up front, but those sofas are extra-long so you can sleep lengthways.

Or if you choose to make up the double sleeping across the ’van, a small handy seating area remains.

The rest of the models are 7.33m long; the 150 has an island bed, while the 155 has a lengthways double bed to one side, often referred to as a French bed.

If you want fixed single beds, there are two models to choose from; low level for easy access with a sumptuous across-the-rear washroom (Autoquest 185) or high-level above a garage- style storage area (194).

All these bigger models have inwards-facing sofas in the lounge, but travel seats pop up from underneath to safely transport the four people they’re designed to accommodate.

The final model is a six-berth family-orientated model, with a rear lounge making into a double bed, the front lounge converting to a double, as well as a double bed lowering down from the ceiling.

The front dinette offers travel seats for four, as well as those two cab seats. All models are based on the Peugeot Boxer with the 2.2 litre 140hp engine, but will also be available on the Fiat Ducato during the second half of this season.

The models also get new 60th Anniversary Edition upholstery, alloy wheels, a leather steering wheel and chrome air vents in the cab.

Campervans are a relatively new addition to the Elddis portfolio, but will still benefit from the anniversary enhancements seen in the other models.

That includes the new interior featuring Tibero light oak style woodgrain. This is matched with Linum Haithabu (grey stone-effect) and Platino (cream) sections.

Add that to the new Mara fabric scheme, and it all creates a very spacious and airy living space.

Note the Elddis CompleteHeat system from Whale, which is fitted as standard.

While this is a great feature in the motorhomes, it’s vital in campervans, as the space this system frees up means more room for all your essential kit!

That’s because the Whale Expanse dual-fuel heater is fitted underneath along with the fresh water, waste water and gas tank. If you plan to tour in the colder months, make sure you opt for the Winter Pack.

Choose from the CV20 with a rear lounge, which is just for two, while the CV40 and CV80 have twin lounges, the latter with a pop-top roof bed fitted as standard.

The CV60 also has two lounges but the rear one is a day bed that converts to a double bed for sleeping.

Compact motorhomes are becoming increasingly popular, but that’s a difficult term to define; some will class it as under 6m and some focus on the narrower van-width models.

Well, the Accordo models fit both, being just a touch wider than the vans they are based on and only 5.99m long.

Striking Rembrandt Silver sides (made out of a highly UV- resistant GRP called Sunsation, which is also used in the other Elddis motorhome ranges) contrast well with the new sweeping red graphics and the white cab and rear.

There are three models to choose from – if you need only two berths and two travel seats, take a look at the 105 for its spacious washroom with separate shower or the 120 for the comfy rear lounge with windows on all three sides.

The final model, the three-berth 135, has a rear lounge, too, but also with a second lounge up front that offers four travel seats.

This model also has the most spacious kitchen of the trio, particularly important if local food and home cooking are a big part of your adventures!
