CamperUK Leisure Park

CamperUK is well known for caravan and motorhome sales and servicing, but now they are operating a motorhome hire service and to cap it all, they have now opened a country retreat for touring caravans and motorhomes.

The idyllic location is very easy to get to, yet it is set in very quiet and peaceful location in the parish of Eagle and Swinethorpe, only ten minutes’ drive from CamperUK’s servicing centre in North Hykeham.

From the B1190 that skirts around the east side of Lincoln, take turn west towards Eagle at the staggered crossroads at Whisby Moor. At Eagle Moor, turn right at the equestrian centre and carry on down the lane for just over a mile, turning left at the white house on right-angled bend.

The focus point of the site is its small lake, which is full of both common and mirror carp of all sizes, right up to the thirty pound mark. An old stable block is still in the process of being converted into holiday cottages and a shop and cafe are also on the way.

The main fields are set aside for touring caravans and motorhomes, with super-pitches available, equipped with mains water and electrical hook-ups. One of the fields is reserved for rallies, with several having already taken place and more booked in for later on in the summer.

The real beauty of the site is its peaceful nature; this isn’t the kind of place for those who demand frenzied activities and laid-on entertainment, it is somewhere to escape from the hustle and bustle of modern living. The surrounding lanes are ideal for cycle riding and there is a real ale pub with a restaurant, just under a mile away in the village of Harby.

You might prefer simply to sit beside the lake, gazing out at the abundant resident wildlife.

For sight seeing, Lincoln cathedral and the historic town of Newark are both within easy reach. Also nearby is the popular roadside viewing area at RAF Waddington, which is usually packed with aircraft enthusiasts. The official opening of the site is set for the beginning of the 2011 season.

CamperUK Hire

Another new venture for CamperUK is the hire business that started this year. The hire categories include 2-3 berth, 4-5 berth and 6-7 berth. All are CamperUK’s own vehicles, fully serviced and valeted in their renowned workshops. Hire prices vary according to the size or the vehicle and the time of year, but a 2-3 berth motorhome can cost as little as £455 per week during the winter months, rising to £830 at peak season.

A 6-7 berth can cost £575 in the winter months and £1,005 in the peak season. It should be remembered that these are not the more common budget rental models, but come from CamperUK’s own stock and include some of the finest and most well equipped German models available.

The following are includes as part of the hire package:

Levelling ramps, gas hob kettle, crockery, cutlery, glasses, kitchen utensils, TV aerial, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, folding chairs, a torch – even cleaning wipes and sundries. Motorhomes are equipped with a wind-out sun canopy, an outside TV input point, 230v mains cable, water filling hose, and and outside barbecue point
