SITUATED on the edge of the North Yorkshire National Park and overlooked by the Hambleton Hills, Abbots Green offers a peaceful, rural environment while having easy access from major transport routes.

The historic City of York is just 15 miles away, while the North Yorkshire coast is within an hour’s drive. Abbots Green has historical links of its own as, being in the hamlet of Balk, it is named after the Clergy from Durham Priory who, in the 13th Century, had their country retreat here. The ecclesiastical theme has been kept alive by Abbots Green with lodges named after abbeys. Abbots Green is a small, gated community withn the rural York House Holiday Park with a feature fountain and a large ornamental lake. It is not difficult to see how it achieved a David Bellamy Gold Award for management of the environment. Their lodges represent a fine mix of luxury, space and home comforts within a secluded country park setting. A choice of different sizes and styles of award winning lodges from different manufacturers are offered to meet individual needs. Each lodge features fully fitted kitchens, contemporary bathrooms, PVCu double glazing, mains electric and LPG gas supplies. The latest choice at Abbots Green is The Tewkesbury lodge from Tingdene. This incorporates barn styling with exposed beams and rafters, double glazed windows to ceiling height, and a luxury open plan living area with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The interior is based on Natural Earth colours to complement the barn look. It is, however, equipped with the latest in kitchen luxuries, including an American fridge/freezer. Also in the kitchen you will find an island feature with bar stools, integrated microwave, three-ring hob, oven and chimney extractor and integrated dishwasher. With Thermowood cladding and full central heating, the Tewkesbury enjoys high insulation values. There are oak framed, double glazed PVCu windows with French doors to the lounge. Within the 19 degree high pitched tiled roof there is a vaulted celing to the kitchen, diner and lounge with two roof windows. Bedroom 1 has a king size bed and walk-in wadrobes. There are also deluxe bathroom and shower suites. The entrance/lobby has a fully tiled utility with sink and integrated washer/dryer. The combination of a bespoke Tewkesbury Lodge and Abbots Green creates a superb retreat in the country.

What facilities does the park have?

The lodges are sold on a strictly holiday basis, no sole residency allowed, as it is a park with a holiday licence. There is one closed month - February.  Maintenance, rates, Wi Fi access and ameniies are covered by the ground rent. Each lodge comes complete with its own driveway and plts are spacious. A play area is situated in an adjacent field, so as not to disturb the atmosphere
