Can campsites benefit from new UK business plan?

Small business reforms: what it means for campsites
The UK Government’s new Small Business Plan promises major changes for SMEs – including those in the caravan/campsite sector – with reforms around payments, grants, access to finance and licensing.
Are caravan campsites left out?
The plan, described as 'the most significant support package in decades', includes a new business growth service and tougher enforcement on overdue invoices. These moves could ease pressure on seasonal operators, such as caravan campsite and holiday parks.
However, in response to queries from Caravan magazine and Out & About Live, the Department for Business and Trade confirmed there are no tourism-specific measures in the plan. Instead, officials pointed to wider reforms – such as changes to high street licensing and funding via the British Business Bank – which may indirectly benefit hospitality businesses.
Smaller campsites may find some relief from improved payment protections and simplified rules, especially if they operate cafés, food vans or on-site shops; but still, without much-needed targeted backing, some operators may struggle to access meaningful support and thus result in campsites being left out.
As implementation rolls out, the Back British Holidays campaign has called for more focused action, calling for urgent support to ensure tourism-reliant businesses aren’t left behind.
