Elddis confirms future caravan production plan
News
Elddis has confirmed that its next generation of caravans will be specified in the UK and manufactured at Erwin Hymer Group’s Plant Isny in Germany.
The update follows the company’s earlier announcement in March, when Elddis said the future of its caravan operation was under review as part of a wider move towards motorhomes and campervans.
Under the latest plan, Elddis caravans will continue to be led from the company’s base in Consett, County Durham, with the UK team responsible for brand strategy, product direction, design, sales, marketing, customer service, technical support and after-sales.
Manufacturing will move to Plant Isny, one of Erwin Hymer Group’s established production sites in Germany. Elddis said the caravans will be tailored to the needs of UK buyers, with the intention that all Elddis-branded caravans will be NCC approved.
The company has also outlined a rough launch timetable. An initial prototype preview is planned for a private dealer event in spring 2027, before a public launch at the October 2027 NEC Show on a dedicated Elddis stand.
For existing Elddis customers, the company says the Consett operation will remain responsible for customer service, technical support and after-sales. Further details on the new caravan range are expected closer to the dealer preview in 2027.
