The annual awards

The Camping and Caravanning Club celebrates campsite awards annually, with categories ranging from Best CS for Families to Best CS for a Friendly Club Welcome.

CS sites, or Certificated Sites can accommodate up to five caravans or motorhomes plus ten tents at any one time. They offer a more unique experience, from back-to-basic campsites through to quirky stays on working farms and smallholdings.

Alison Habberfield, who owns Nunnington Park Farm Campsite jointly with her husband and son, said,

“I am a third-generation farmer and I work the land and run the campsite with help from my husband and younger son.

“We have been operating the campsite for 11 years and have seen a lot of changes in that time - from the boom of the pandemic to welcoming repeat customers year after year.

“Nunnington gets a lot of repeat guests and people booking on recommendation which is lovely, and I enjoy taking the time to meet people when they arrive and being on hand to give advice on local walks and cycle routes.

“We pride ourselves on our facilities as they are integral to our guest experience – to also win the Best CS for Facilities award this year really is the cherry on top.

“My husband and I caravan ourselves and took our own children on camping holidays when they were younger, often locally in Devon or Somerset. It really is a fabulous way to get out and about. Come and visit us next time you are in the area!”

What to expect

Nunnington Park Farm is nested in the foot of the Brendon Hills, with access to Exmoor National Park. Further, the market town of Wiveliscombe is only one mile away, which is home to all essential amenities, such as various shops, restaurants and a heated swimming pool. But it you are seeking something a little more cosmopolitan Wellington, Taunton and Exeter are within easy reach.

The coast is within a 30-minute drive and there are some beautiful places on the way, such as Lyme Regis, Porlock, Lynton and Lynmouth to explore.

The site also features two vending machines, which sell local produce, beer, cider, honey and logs for the on-site fire pits and another with ice cream and home-produced meat.
