The German brand said the move forms part of its new “Bürstner Reloaded” strategy, which aims to react to changing customer habits and demand within the leisure vehicle market. Going forward, the company will concentrate its development and production on motorised models.
Despite the change, Bürstner confirmed that aftersales support and spare parts for its existing caravan range will remain fully in place.
Hubert Brandl, Chairman of the Management Board at Bürstner, said the decision should not be seen as a permanent exit from the sector, but rather a refocus of the brand’s priorities. He added that customers can expect further developments and new ideas within the motorhome and campervan ranges in the coming model years.
The caravan market will continue to be represented within the wider Erwin Hymer Group, which includes brands such as LMC, Dethleffs and Eriba.
